Happy Valentines Day! I have been feeling very nostalgic this month about the first year Todd and I lived on Maui. It was March 2012, we were engaged with plans to get married that October.
The first few months were spent trying to get settled and deciding on what part of the island to call home. I was raised in Upcountry Maui and had always envisioned living on the North Shore when I moved back to the island. However I wanted to keep our options open and considered living in Lahaina on the West Side.
We ended up finding a sweet Ohana on the North Shore and have been living there ever since. After we moved in the wedding plans begun and I found myself excited to move into the next chapter but also wanting to hold on to the last few moments of our engagement. It is also really fun to say fiancé.
Through all the planning I started telling my maid of honor Lindasy how Todd and I had never taken professional photos before. I had swooned over other couples engagement photos and thought it was the perfect way to document such a special time.
Two months before our wedding Lindsay set up a photo shoot with the lovely Jules of Juliana Photography. We chose the stunning Ironwoods Beach on the North West shore of Maui in Kapalua. Towards the end of the shoot we stumbled across a labyrinth which felt like fate as we were married in one in my home town of Makawao.
It was such a fun experience and I am so grateful to have these shots to look back on. I hope everyone has a beautiful day filled with love.
Lots of Aloha,
